Killed it on Ft. Gibson yesterday. With Lukas Miller his two sons and two business partners.. Started out on spoonbill as primary objective they are getting pretty scattered as the season winds down we got our fish and moved on to some catfish in the same area got those as well. We needed something more exciting for the youngsters so we went to find some sandbass and we got them going quickly after a little patient sonar reading.. love it. Kids caught fish till they said they was just done lol. Got some nice wipers too! I’ll add more photos as they arrive.
Fish On at Skiatook Lake Yesterday Friday the 9th, Water temps was about 52 degrees and down a little due to a couple days of north wind. We Used Livescope and Lures to test fish for a couple hours they wasn't having it. Most fish around the banks was holding about 12ft. I switched over to bait tactics and found some fish glued to the bottom at 27ft and they were sandbass. They would only hit down lines with fresh live bait. We started picking up catfish as well on lines cast away from the boat on cut or whole baits. The fish would only hang out with the boat about 10 minutes then loose interest. Marked fish in deeper water but if they showed separation off bottom they would not bite. White perch would not bite. Found 3 spots that would work and it had its moments. We broke one off and Caught one hybrid had one fall off the hook at the boat. One legal brownie and I cleaned 15 fish. Thanks Steve and Mario great repeat customers. We had fun.
Did A Catfish trip to Ft. Gibson yesterday, searched around till I found what we wanted then we got to work on them last couple hours. Conditions were rough with high winds and strong current, customers stuck it out and had a good time. For a fact I can land right on them if anyone wants some catfish in this area. Spoonbill and White bass are good here as well. So I've been hanging around this area because of the great fishing options. It was nice change of pace to do these catfish today. I didn't get a lot of family photos by customer choice but the kids were gettin er done lol!
sandbass trip on fort Gibson today, and we did good enough.. I would find some fish on sonar and we would catch some fish. And they would get pretty crazy a couple of times but mostly just steady and we had to work harder to get the presentation right. They would get going and then they would want to die off. I did move around more than usual and that always gives me useful information. There is a few days still open and Dave has quite a few days available as well just call me if you need a trip 918-724-6786. Visit my website fishonok.com it’s been updated and we’ve got some new stuff on there.
I had the pleasure of guiding Brian and Alan into some of the best sandbass fishing I guess I’ve ever seen. At least till the next trip I didn’t see a whole lot of spoonbill stacked up on my way in but I started marking Sandbass in several areas we decided to try that. The first stop was a little slow so I gave it five minutes we moved to another spot and they swarmed us nonstop action for couple hours till we had our chest of fish! Large females a plenty. Two nice hybrids. Nice powerful fish. Artificial and live bait. Left them biting. I would highly recommend trying it. Especially for the kiddos.
