Fish On! OOLOGAH again today we set up to look at some catfish and get the box filled up before we went to check some other species and that plan worked just fine we sat there most of the trip in one spot and put in 30 of them up to 11 pounds. It was a soft bite today a lot of them did get away. We moved to check SANDBASS and hybrid but they were not having it we could throw right in them and they would follow it a little bit they were so lethargic. The catfish was slow on the second and third try as well. But we have these north winds and storms coming today the Bait was not very lively in the lake everything was pretty chill not feeding heavily as far as I could tell. We got them on live cut Fish for Bait in 28 to 30 foot of water Main Lake points along the banks
Fish on! OOLOGAH Lake today, pretty strong current going through the lake where we were fishing. We stopped in 28 foot of water with a few scattered fish mix with Bait and other mystery fish that evidently may have been catfish because we caught a bunch and short order we never filled up the cooler limited everybody on the boat out. Snared a paddlefish as well. We checked CRAPPIE we found those as well the bite was pretty difficult we found Sandbass grouped up really good and they were difficult to stay on they were moving. Those two species will get better. The catfish are post spawn right now adult fish are feeding like crazy. Usually I say August or maybe a little early this year
forgot to record water temperature but I’m sure it’s into the low or mid 80’s
Fish On! Skiatook today, hybrid Striper we got them in 40 foot of water and 50 foot of water nothing real fast but at least they would hit a little bit we got a three man limit overs and unders 15 and I had three people on the boat so that’s cool. We also had one that was 30 inches long actually 29 inches but that puppy should’ve weigh plenty trophy but it was skinny 8 pounds only that happens this time of year. I landed a nice seven pounder by hand that got in the motor it stayed out there a long time while we was messing around with the bigger one so it was pretty wore out. None of the fish were getting actually look like they would survive at this point I think the water temperature is about 80 they might live if you threw them back they might not. We ended up with a dozen catfish as well mostly out of one location and that made a gallon of fillets. Thanks Leon it was good to see you and your family buddy. Getting more and more difficult at times as season progresses. Bigger fish tho.
Fish on! SKIATOOK today started early morning Fish were scattered didn’t pick up a bite went looking again and again and I’ve never seen carp everywhere I mean we finally snagged one by accident they look pretty good on sonar they must be spawn or something they shoot up and down and they’re not very Boat shy so don’t be fooled they kind of look like hybrids. Sand bass would run away from the boat quickly and hybrids were on bottom pretty mixed in hard to see not a lot on sonar really the bigger fish were biting it’s been that way. We did good with 20 and broke off another 10 it seems like a lot of them got off the hook too. Live shad free lines is working one area downlines is working the other. Got them in 38 and 48 foot of water. They’ve been biting better at noon lately. They really gather up and get moving that time of day for some reason maybe a little earlier too but they really turn it on whenever I’m leaving. Thanks Johnny for coming back and organizing this big event. Hope everybody had fun and learn something
