Fish On! 3/19/24 We had fun on keystone with Brian and family. We got off to a slow start, early on all the fish are mixed and scattered across bottom can't tell what your in. Gar, carp, paddlefish, striper, blues, shad, drum, and sandbass just to name a few. We was kinda looking for striper on start but set our catfish lines as well. I also skunked 1st and 2nd try. Any rate the fish had moved we did a little feeling around. Did decent on catfish 14 to 7 ft of water they wasn't crazy or action packed. But decent they would have added up with patience and desire. Later I Moved to 33ft of water and found striper by midday which made them difficult I guess or maybe cold front but at least I located them and they are plentiful , I got to watch enough striper on livescope to limit us out quick if they would have come on with it.. way it was we caught about 1 out of every 20 lookey loos.., cut bait seemed good as live if not better. We catch and release today plenty of half hearted bites didn't hook up on both species. Took some stripers home for dinner. There's no shortage of them in the lake, I will show early today drop on them early and see if they will come on with it. The bait is balling up in the mid day sun and the stripers are easy to see attacking shad. Water temps about 55 bait is frisky and reactive to boat, water is pretty clear, and with time change and sun positions and strong winds there was nothing exactly easy about catching bait. Nothing easy about yesterday, but worth it to see some rods bend off into the lake and the kids loved it.
