Skiatook Lake Oklahoma - Apr 29, 08

Not quite like yesterday. We were out for a three hour trip and never did find the Hybrids. We did catch all of the Sandbass we wanted and one nice Blue, but no Hybrids. We tried a little bit of everything with  no success. The water temp. is now 60deg.  is still murky but seems to clearing up some.

FISH ON!!!!This was the fourth trip out with this angler in a week and it ended up being the best. We didn't catch any real big fish but we caught several. The sandbass were mixed in with the Hybrids so we had pretty steady action most of the afternoon. We caught a lot on downlines and some on freelines and ballons. The water temp. was 60 deg.

Skiatook Lake Oklahoma - Apr 27, 08

Another slow day. Sort of.  We had pretty good action we just didn't catch a whole lot.  We kept missing a lot of fish. Most of the hits were pretty aggressive. But some were not.  All of the fish came on planner boards and ballons. We were in 15 to 70ft of water and the water temp. is now 58deg.

Skiatook Lake Oklahoma - Apr 26, 08

Kinda a slow, but a real good day. We caught the Skiatook lake record for a Small Mouth Bass. My scales showed it weighed 6.6lbs. Three hours later when we went to make it  official it weighed 5.6lbs.  I guess my scales are guide calibrated :) .  Either way it was a real nice fish. Dan Dorsey was the angler and he took him to have him mounted.  We didn't catch a lot of fish but we missed more than we caught. We ended up with 8 Hybrids and 2 small mouth. The water temp. is getting to be perfect. The water temp. is 58deg. All of the fish came on plannerboards or freelines in 15 to 70ft of water.

Skiatook Lake Oklahoma - Apr 21, 08

A slow good day.  It started off slow and ended slow, but we caught some nice fish in between. I had two of the same anglers as yesterday so that made it fun. The wind was blowing hard and it kinda messed up the fishing. After about 4 hours I had to anchor up and and cast out some. We only caught ten fish but they were some real good quality fish. The big fish was 7lbs with a few more close behind. Caught all on planner boards with medium split shot. Water temp was 57deg and most of the fish came in 15 to 20 ft of water.

Skiatook Lake Oklahoma - Apr 20, 08

Pretty good day. Not a whole lot of  fish, but  some nice ones. The biggest was right at 8lbs. We caught several right off then it slowed down. Then it picked up again towards mid morning. Caught most of the fish on ballons and planner boards. Most of the fish we caught were in 15 to 25ft of water and the water temp. was around 55deg. The water is starting to clear up some.

Skiatook Lake Oklahoma - Apr 19, 08

Kind a slow but a good day. We didn't catch a fish till about 5pm. Then from 5pm till about 7:30 we caught ten. We had been looking for them all day in shallow water and couldn't find them. We had had several on that just came off or we missed for some reason. Then we went in the deep water and found them willing to bite. We caught almost all on planner boards or ballons, with one medium split shot. Water temp. varied from 58deg. to 65deg and murky.

Ouachita - Apr 14, 08

YEE HAA    Beautiful Lake Ouachita. Had a really great week. We caught 77 fish for the week. We never did find the big ones. They were all between 10 to 14lbs. The water was real muddy when we got there, but it sure didn't hurt the fishing. They are just about ready to spawn. With the water muddy they were not very aggressive until they could see the boat and then the fight was on. We caught them every where we fished. We fished the Twin creeks flats, Striper point and Outhouse cove. We went about as far as we could go up the river till the water cleared and the carp were spawning and caught some there. I had trips on Sunday and Tuesday and did good on both. The Tuesday trip was just three hours and we caught three fish and then the wind started blowing and kinda messed up the rest of the trip. In the pic of Jay and Tina there eyes are looking to the right, that is because a pole is bent over. The group of guys I had on Sunday and Monday had the best of both worlds. We had great weather and caught a good amount of fish. It was a real pleasure to fish with guys who enjoyed each others company(mostly brothers) and enjoyed the outdoors. Jay and Tina were there on vacation and was enjoying the beauitful scenery of the lake.

The water temp. was around 60deg. Most of the fish were caught in 25 to 30 ft of water. We caught them on downlines freelines and freelines with split shot.

FISH ON!!!!
