Fishing Reports
September
Very, Very, tuff weekend. fished both days and only caught two hybrids. We caught a lot of catfish and just about everything else. Along with the catfish we caught some nice small mouth, largemouth, walley, and crappie. But only two hybrids. I am not sure where the hybrids have gone, but we couldn't find them. Saturdy I was a second boat for John Harless's party and John had the same results as me. Sunday was the same way for both of us. Although John did catch a few Hybrids in the morning, and I went out out in the afternoon. It was a very tuff weekend for Hybrid catching.
Very tuff day. The wind was blowing about 25mph with gust to somewhere around hard and real hard. It was
taking two anchors to get us to hold. We only caught 4 fish with the biggest being about a 5 lb Hybrid. We used a bunch of bait. We were getting hits, but because the wind was blowing so hard we couldn't tell when it was happening. When I would check the bait, we would see that we had, had a hit. We had a few more on that just came at the boat. Overall it was a very tuff day of fishing and not much catching. The water was very muddy and the water temp. was 78deg. Most of the fish we caught were in about 25ft of water.
Very Slow day. Started out slow and ended slow. Fished all over the lake and never did really find any active
feeders. We ended up with 8 small Hybrids and one 12lb blue. It was pretty tuff fishing. The wind was blowing about 20 mph and we had difficult getting the anchor to hold. The fish we did catch were in about 25 ft of water. The water temp is 76deg.
FISH ON!!!
A pretty good day. The anglers I had wanted
to learn how to catch bait and Hybrid
fish, so they met me and we went
and got bait in the rain at the port and then headed for Sooner Lake.
However on the way there I got a call from Tony Hughes saying the fish were
biting on Blackwell so we changed lakes, and were glad we did. After we
got to Blackwell we could see a huge storm over by Sooner,(and that was
confirmed later). The fish were a little scattered but managed we to catch
some nice ones by the end of the day. The catfish were mixed in with
the Hybrids pretty good. We ended up with 18 nice Hybrids and 12
Kittys. We had 1 8lb Hybrid and a couple of 7's and the rest were
between 3 and 5lbs. It was about 50/50 on downlines and freelines. The
water depth varied from 15 to 28ft and some of the time we were
anchored and some of the time I was trolling. Water temp. was 82deg.

FISH ON!!!!
My daughter, my wife and I went to C/B, and had a reel good time. We
only fished about
3 hours and caught 35 Hybrids for a fish fry I am
having. They hadn't been with me in a real long time so I was hoping
for a good time. The biggest Hybrid was about 7 1/2 to 8 lbs and we had
a couple of those. We had a real big one up to the boat but I couldn't
get my fish out of the net quick enough to get it, and it ended up
coming off. It looked to be 12 to 13lbs. About 75% were caught on
freelines. I had some perch with me on Friday and Sat. and they would
get ate about as fast as I would put them in. The size of the perch
varied, from 3in. to 7in. and they all got ate. I had one reel that
wasn't fully spooled up, and it got spooled. I heard the drag going and
Meghan grabbed it, and about that time it hit the knot at the end and
snapped. Of course it was the biggest one of the day.
We were in 25ft of water and the water temp. was 84deg.
