Skiatook Lake Oklahoma - Apr 30, 07

Awesome!! thats the only way to describe todays trip. We started fishing about 1pm and by 3:30 we had caught DSCN0410.JPG 25 very nice Hybrids. The only reason we quit was the storms were rolling in pretty quick. They were very actively feeding and most of the time it was hard to keep all of the lines in the water. All fish were either caught on downlines or freelines with split shot. The biggest fish was 7.2lbs We were anchored up and the wind was blowing fairly hard. We were in 20 to 30 ft of water and water temp. was 64deg.  It was great to be with a father and sons and grandson who truly enjoyed being together.

Carl Blackwell Lake Oklahoma - Apr 29, 07

It started out fast and slowed down and then picked back up. We fished for six hours and caught 15DSCN0409.JPG fish. The biggest was 7lbs even. We caught most on downlines and few on freelines with split shot. It seemed the bite got alittle better as the afternoon wore on. We left alittle early and they were still biting. The water temp. was 64deg with alittle wind and alot of boat traffic.

Skiatook Lake Oklahoma - Apr 28, 07

They were hitting real hard. There was no mistake when one was on. We caught them on freelines ,downlines, and ballons out the back. We also caught a few on planner boards. It was a beautiful morning to be out. Water temp. was 62 to 64 deg. Most fish were caught in 20 to 30 ft of water.

Lake Ouachits Arkansas - Apr 14, 07

Very Slow week. It started out Ok but nothing very big, and not very many. We caught some at the beginnig of the week but as the week progressed it got slower. We did catch some with the clients but not very many. The biggest for the week was 15 1/2 lbs. We actually caught more fish when it was cold, wet and windy. As the weather cleared up the fish slowed down. Everything was right for them to be be active. The water temp started out at, 58deg and by the time time we left it was 69 deg. We usually caught one or two everytime we went out but we did get skunked a couple of times. The last day we were there we didn't catch a fish. Most of the ones we caught were about ready to spawn. But we did catch a couple that had already spawned. I am not sure what the problem was, usually this time of the year there, its a blast. We were thinking it may of been the warm spring that had them mixed up. I know they had me guessing all week. It was still better than being at work!!

Skiatook Lake Oklahoma - Apr 12, 07

Very,Very Slow. We started fishing at 1pm and caught a couple within the first hour aDSCN0359.JPGnd a few other bites. Then about 3 pm the wind started blowing fairly hard out of the east and turned cold, we hardly even got a bite the rest of the day. It was very disappointing one couple was Ohio and we really would of liked to showed them what Oklahoma Hybrid fishing was like. We tried several different locations with the same results. The water temp. was 58deg. and we were all different depths.

Skiatook Lake Oklahoma - Apr 11, 07

FISH ON!!  Fished for just alittle over two hours and caught 11 real nice Hybrids.  The biggest was 5.4 but theDSCN0358.JPG smallest was about 4lbs. The wind kept us from fishing where I wanted to fish, so I went to a spot just alittle out of the wind. On the way across the lake my locator went off and never could get it to come back on. We were hitting some four ft. waves and taking a pretty good pounding. I anchored up and started chuming and it didn't take long. The bite seemed a little timid, but when they took it they really took off. We caught them on downlines mostly but did manage a few on acouple of free lines. The lake temp.  is 55deg, and I am not sure of the depth. I think we were in 30ft of water.

Skiatook Lake Oklahoma - Apr 10, 07

Went fishing with my brother and nephew for a day and half and had a pretty good time of catching fish. WeDSCN0357.JPG went to Choteau Bend for one afternoon and caught 24  sandies. It started out slow and then picked up some. 2lbs was the biggest  and a pound being the smallest. We caught all trolling even though we had live bait, we couldn't find them with the live bait. Today we went to Sooner in the AM but had battery trouble and never got on the water. The trouble was I forgot to plug in the charger. We came home got it straighten out and went to Skiatook for the  afternoon. We ended up catching some pretty nice Hybrids. The biggest was 5lbs. We caught some on downlines and some on free lines. The water temp. was 55deg and we were in 32 ft. of water.

Sooner Lake Oklahoma - Apr 07, 07

Slow, Cold Day. It started out slow and cold and pretty much ended up that way.  We did manage to catch 14 fishDSCN0354.JPG  with the biggest being about a 5lb Striper. Most of the Hybrids were 2 to 3lbs. and we had a few nice blues mixed in.  We caught most of the fish on either cut bait or downlines. Again we lost several on the way to the boat. We did start leaving the bait clickers on and that seemed to help some. The lake water temp. was 59 deg., wind was out of the North and most of the time we were in 25 to 30ft of water.

Sooner Lake Oklahoma - Apr 05, 07

The cows were standing and the fish were biting. The north wind was blowing, but it didn't seem to bother theDSCN0352.JPG fishing any. Some of the bites were a little timid, but overall it was a pretty good afternoon. We ended up with 28 fish, all but four were nice Hybrids. The biggest Hybrid was 5.12 with a couple more close to that range. But most were 3 to 4 lbs. The four blues were pretty nice with the biggest being alittle over 6 lbs. We seemed to of missed alot. They would be on for awhile then come off. We caught them on just about everything. Downlines, cut bait and free lines. We were in 25 to 30ft of water most of the time. The lake water temp. was 60 deg.

Skiatook Lake Oklahoma - Apr 03, 07

Worst day in three years. I had a afternoon trip for three hours and we did not catch a fish. The wind was blowing about 15 to 20 out of the NW and it kept shifting some. I was anchored on top of some fish and they would come up and look at the bait and go back down. We had one nice fish on and the drag was screaming and when the hook got set the line broke. We had a bunch of nervous baits but for some reason they wouldn't go ahead and take it. I tried all different sizes and a whole lot of chum. Nothing worked.  Luckily, the cutomers were repeat and seemed to understand. I thought it might be a bad day when I saw the cows laying down chewing there cud.

Skiatook Lake Oklahoma - Apr 01, 07

Another rough day, Only this one was  on Skiatook. Started out real slow and picked up alittle and then slowed backDSCN0350.JPG down again. We ended up with 7 Hybrids and 3 blues. The biggest Hybrid was 5 1/2 and the biggest blue, which did cause some excitement, was 10 lbs.  The water temp was 60 deg. and we were in all depths of water trying to find some active fish. It sure was a very nice day to be out, and great to watch father and son fish together.
