Beaver Lake AR.

The Oklahoma Stripe Bass Association had our annual downrigging tournament at Beaver this last weekend. It was
HOT. My friend Russ and I were camped out in our tents and that made it worse. However everyone that entered the tournament caught fish, just not any big ones. The tournament is billed as a night time tournament for downrigging. Thats for a reason. Its HOT in August. However, Russ and I decided to fish live bait on Saturday morning. We caught three on freelines with split shot behind planner boards. Our biggest was 10lbs. We were going to downrigg Saturday night but my motor quit so we weren't able to downrigg. We made it in on the T/M. The big fish for the tournament was a 13lber caught by Mike and Connie Kelly while downrigging. Everybody fished down by the dam. There were lots of fish in the area. Most were coming at around 30ft, in deep water. Other than the heat it was a really good weekend to be out.
FISH ON!!!
