Sooner Lake Oklahoma

May 09 10

Fish On! We got a late start and quit early so it was kind of a short day. Rod wanted to learn the lake some so we went to a few places we wouldn't normally go to this time of year. By the time we got to where we wanted to fish the wind was blowing pretty good. (Mudd puddles were white capping). We were taking some water over the front of the boat while anchored, but we did catch some fish. We caught 15 Hybrids in the 3 hours we fished. The biggest Hybrid was proably 4lbs. But most were in the 2 to 3lb range. We missed almost as many as we caught. They would be on for awhile and then come off on the way to the boat. I changed over to trebble hooks and that seemed to help. We were anchored in 20ft of water casting back into 5ft of water. Some were caught on the downlines in the 20ft and some on freelines in the 5ft. Some on cut bait and some on live shad. Water temp. on the main lake is 63degs.
