Ouachita
Oct 26 09
Fished with a group of guys(Steve Carroll:Weekend Duty couldn't go so I took them for him) for
a day and half on beautiful lake Ouachita.(It gets prettier every time I go)We did ok but not great. We caught a couple on Saturday and three Sunday morning. Of course the big one got away. We had one on that was just about too spool a 6500 and I was turning the boat with the tm to go chase him when he came off. We thought maybe the the line broke. But it didn't. (I was sure glade to see the hook.) I have never seen one run like that down there. We have caught a 41, 33, and several in the 20's and none ran like that. He was either fowl hooked or something MIGHTY big.
After sat. I realized the fish we had caught were on lines with small weights so I put weights(1/4oz)on all of the lines. They were either hungrier Sunday morning or the weights made the difference. Water temp. was 65deg and murky. All of the fish were caught in Outhouse cove.
