Fishing Reports
Fish On!, but kinda slow. It started out about as fast as possilble during the first thirty minutes, we caught 6 or 7.
Then it really slowed down. We moved a couple times and would find the school of Hybrid/striper(wipers) and catch some and then they would move. We had four on at once, got three in the boat, and by the time I got the baits back in the water they were gone. We caught them in 15fow and 30fow. Most of the Hybrids came on downlines. Bigggest was 4lbs. Tried downrigging and still couldm't find the active feeders. Water temp. is 74degs.
FISH ON!
Fish On!!!!! It was a good day to be on beautiful lake Skiatook. An the fish were willing. We got a early start and the
fish were feeding from the time we put the first line in the water. We caught 7 or 8 in the first thirty minutes and then it slowed down. We caught some Hybrid/Stripers(wipers) at every place we fished. But, we were starting to run out of time and made one more stop. And the locator screen lit up with large groups of fish. We stopped on top of them and we started catching some real nice Hybrids/stripers. We were having four on at once but only getting a couple in. When we finished the morning we had 25 real nice Hybrids with the biggest around 6lbs an several others close behind. We caught them in all depths and some on freelines and most on downlines. Water temp. is 74degs and the water is starting to clear up around the bridge.(in the pic Dale is looking at a pole about to be pulled into the water) :)
FISH ON!!!!!!!
Another slow day on Skiatook, but we did catch the biggest fish of the spring for us. It was a real nice 11 lb
Hybrid/Striper(wiper). It dosen't look that big in the pic but, I weighed it, an taped it. The rest of the fish we caught were mostly on the small side. We had a couple other nice Hybrid/Stripers(wipers)an that was it. I can't seem to find a good school of fish. We tried downrigging hoping to come across some, but that didn't help either. We ended the morning with 12 fish. About half Hybrids and half Sandbass. All but a couple of the fish came on downlines in 30fow on a dropoff. Water temp. is 75degs.
Very Slow!!!!. It was a beautiful morning to be on Skiatook lake. I had been looking forward to this trip for awhile with
friends Ramona,an Jefff and J.D an Ruth. But the fish just did not want to cooperate. We got a early start but that did not help any. Looked all over Skiatook Lake for some willing Hybrid/Stripers(Wipers). We found them once in about 15fow for about a hour and that was it. We caught five and had a couple come off. I was talking to the other guides on the lake an they were having less luck than we were. Other than the one time, we never did mark a good school of fish. The water by Hy20 bridge is murky and warmer(75degs). Water down by the dam area is around 70degs and clear. We ended the morning with 6 fish all small.
FISH ON!!!!! It was a pretty good day to be on the water on beautiful Skiatook Lake. We caught a few fish before I could get all of the lines in the
water. Then it slowed down. We started moving around quite a bit looking for some active feeders. They seemed to be hard to come by. Larry Wine of "Hook, Line and Sinker" was also out with customers. We were talking back and forth as to where we were, and where we had been, an no use in going. Larry called and said "I can't keep the lines in the water". We went running. Larry was right. For about a hour it was constant Fish On. When it settled back down we had several nice Hybrid/Stripers(wipers) in the boat. Not sure what our count was, we were throwing back the smaller ones that were not gut hooked. When we finished our morning of fishing we had caught around 30 fish. It was about half Hybrid/Stripers(wipers) and about half nice Sandbass. Big fish was a real nice 7lb Hybrid/Striper. Most fish were caught on downlines in about 30fow one crank off of bottom, all on live shad. Water temp. is 68degs.
