Skiatook Lake Oklahoma - Aug 16, 08

Went to Skiatook for three hours and caught three fish. None of them being what we were looking for. Tried a little bit of everything from chumming live bait to downrigging. We marked lots of fish just no takers. The water temp. was 81deg, and we tried all different depths.

Ouray - Aug 14, 08

Spent a week of VC time in Ouray Colorado. It was beautiful. Saw a lot of wild life including a Golden Eagle and Black Bear. Rented jeeps and went to three different summits. The highest we got was 12,800 ft. Went by Blue Mesa reservoir and it was beautiful. May have to try it out some time.

Fish On! Not quite as good as it had been. We caught between 15 to 20 Hybrids. We weren't keeping any so it was hard to get a good count. They were very aggressive and for there size, they were really fun to catch. All were between 2 to 3 lbs. We caught them all on dwonlines in 25 to 32 ft of water. The water temp. was 86deg with the wind out of the E.

FISH ON!!!! Not quite as good as the last time, but it was still a good trip. We caught around 25 Hybrids. They were on the small side. Most were between 2 to 3 lbs and all were caught on downlines in 28 to 32ft of water. It started out kinda fast and then it slowed down to just steady. It was a real pleasure to fish with a repeat customer and his family. I would like to thank Major Emmons for his service to our country.

FISH ON!!!! As my good friend Tony Hughes would say " We wacked em pretty good". My long time friend Steve White and I finally got to go fishing together again and we ended up doing pretty good. We started out catching some pretty small fish and kept moving around till we found some decent fish. They were really schooled up. We had to stay right on top of them to keep them going. There was a couple of times when we couldn't get all of our poles in the water. That would last for a while and then it would slow down as the school moved on. We ended up with somewhere around 40 fish. We just kept enough for a fish fry so we didn't get a good count. The biggest was 4lbs but most were 3 to 4lbs. Most of the fish were caught in 28 to 32 ft. of water on downlines and the lake water temp was 86deg. Plus it was 104 in the boat, or just plain HOT.( I saw a dog chasing a rabbit and they were both walking!!)
